Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a government program that provides monthly benefits to low-income people ages 65 and over, and blind or people (including children under the age of 18) with disabilities.
You may be eligible for SSI payments if you have little to no income. You must prove you can’t work due to your medical condition that is expected to last for at least one year.
The maximum monthly SSI payment for 2024 is $943. This amount is set by the Social Security Administration.
